Die Lodge in Hambantota soll zu eine Ruheoase in jeder Hinsicht werden. Weitab vom Tourismus wird die Lodge am See Gelegenheit bieten, sich auf ein anderes Sri Lanka einzulassen.

The Lodge in Hambantota will become a place of peace. Far away from tourism the Lodge, settled close to a lake, will give the opportunity to get in touch with another Sri Lanka.

Von Anfang an hat mich das Ursprüngliche dieser Gegend, sei es von der Natur oder auch von den Menschen fasziniert. Hambantota ist eine trockene, wüstenähnliche Region. Die Tage sind sehr heiss, aber immer von einem angenehmen Wind begleitet und die Nächte sind angenehm kühl mit dem klassischen "Wüsten-Sternenhimmel-Dach". Die Tierwelt ist faszinierend und in den frühen Morgen- oder Abendstunden kann so manches Tier, wie Elefanten, Krokodile, Affen, Leguane und die mannigfaltige Vogelwelt, beobachtet werden. Der bekannte Yala-Nationalpark ist ganz in unserer Nähe sowie auch der wunderschöne Tempel in Kataragama.

Right from the beginning I was impressed by the origin of this area. Nature and people living there were fascinating me. Hambantota is a dry and desert-like area. The days are very hot but always accompanied with a convenient wind. The nights are comfortably cool with the miraculous stars we can see in a desert area. The fauna is fascinating and in the early morning or evening we can watch so many different animals like elephants, krokodils, monkeys, leguanes and birds. The famous Yala-Nationalpark is very close to our place as well as the beautiful Temple of Kataragama.

In unserer Lodge in Hambantota soll Platz sein für Ruhe, das Ursprüngliche und Abenteuerliche. So wird sicher traditionell gekocht, natürlich auf dem Holzfeuer. Lakmal hat viele Ideen und wird zusätzliche Summer-Huts mit Palmendächern bauen sowie ein traditionelles, immer kühles Mud-House. Ich

träume von einem reichhaltigen Garten, der unsere Jungle-Lodge zum one-and-only-Feeling bringen wird.

Our Lodge shall be a place where our guest can find calm, origin and adventure. Surely we will think about cooking traditionally on the wood-fire. Lakmal has many ideas about places in the shade he wants to build to have cool and relaxing places during hot day time. I keep dreaming of a wonderful garden that will bring the perfect one-and-only-feeling to our Lodge.
